 Заполучив в свою группу вокалиста Джонни Джиоели и клавишника Ферди Доенберга, Аксель Руди Пелль решает выпустить второй сборник лучших баллад. Кстати, на этом альбоме (а точнее, на новых песнях) за барабанами уже Майк Террана! Так что можно с уверенностью сказать - с этого альбома образовался устойчивый состав, который держится до сих пор.
А теперь побольше о самой музыке. Понятно, что весь материал альбома составляют душещипательные баллады, большую часть которых мы уже слышали на других альбомах Акселя. Также Аксель записал 2 новые песни и 2 кавера на самого себя. Новые "Come Back To Me" и "I Believe In You" выделяются, прежде всего, вокалом Джиоели и красивыми текстами про любовь и магию (а любовь - сама по себе «Магия»). Особо красивой гитарной игры тут нет, но она бы здесь была только лишней. Новые версии "Broken Heart" и "The Clown Is Dead" просто потрясающие! Кроме того, что они совсем не похожи на оригиналы, они еще и превосходят их! Опять же, Джиоели поет НАМНОГО эмоциональнее и душевнее, чем Чарли Хьюн/Джефф Скотт Сото. После того, как я услышал "BH" в исполнении Джонни, я не мог уснуть - насколько мощна эта баллада! А "TCID" из мощного эпика превратилась в грустную песню с клавишной игрой и акустической гитарой. Опять же, вокал… На диск Аксель также запихнул свой кавер на Хендрикса "Hey Joe", в котором поет САМ! Восхитительный диск, настоящий подарок для всех любителей такой музыки! |
