 Шведские пауэрщики Persuader выпустив в 2000 году хороший дебютный альбом, получили впоследствии от некоторых вебзинов звание лучшего открытия 2000 года. Однако дальнейшее развитие событий было несколько бурным. Сначала лейбл коллектива Loud ´N´ Proud Records вынужден был закрыться из-за финансовых трудностей, но группа успешно в конце концов приобрела поддержу Noise Records. Далее последовал уход гитариста Пекки Кивиахо, который сформировал данную группу. На место его прибыл Эмиль Норберг и как раз с ним и был записан второй полноформатный альбом «Evolution Purgatory». Прежде всего стоит сказать, что группа коренным образом изменила свой саунд и теперь слушая плотный и мощный звук «Evolution Purgatory», мне приходят мысли что дебютный альбом не был так идеален в этом отношении. Стилистика ребят осталась однако неизменной – забойный пауэр метал, теперь уже с элементами мелодик дэт метала, а частые, но очень короткие скримы делают музыку ещё более экстремальной. Вокалист продолжает также петь голосом весьма близким к Ханси Кюршу (Blind Guardian) и тут кажется что музыканты словно решили это использовать, резко изменив мелодическую сторону пластинки по направлению к блайндам. Что у них вышло спросите вы? Вышло у них то же самое что и у проекта бывшего барабанщика блайндов Томена Сауха – Savage Circus. То есть такой же ранний блайндовский пауэр, разве что без соло гитар со специфической окраской, зато с такими же широкими и объемными припевами. А ещё появилось что-то от Iron Savior…Но вот свой собственный стиль который ребята изобрели на пером альбом кажется был утрачен – где та депрессивность, жёсткость присущая шведскому дэту? Можно теперь сказать добро пожаловать в клуб любителей музыки Пита Силка, где вам составят компанию Iron Savior, Savage Circus, Wizard, Stormwarrior и др. И всё-таки у альбома Persuader есть что-то чем не обладают перечисленные группы…Да, и эти музыканты теперь просто рубят пауэр без особых задних мыслей, однако такие сильные композиции как «Strike Down», «Masquerade» и «Godfather» дают мне надежду что не всё ещё потеряно. В конце то концов «Evolution Purgatory» качественный пауэр, не более и не менее, так что налетайте... |
