 Второй альбом английских мелодик хард рокеров стал для коллектива первой удачной работой, а также пропуском на мировую сцену, что позволило ему впервые пуститься в турне по Англии, Германии и Японии. Как раз после выпуска «The Name Of The Rose» стала происходить череда оглушительных наград для участников коллектива от различных рок изданий, что привело к продаже диска в размере более ста тысяч копий! Да и вообще, музыканты показали невероятную трудоспособность выпустив два диска за всего лишь один год! Качество записи на альбоме отличное, вокал Гари Хьюза окреп и проявил себя во всей своей красе, также примечательно то что поёт он весьма спокойно и напевно. Сам же музыкальный материал технически продолжал предыдущую дебютную работу «X», но вот с точки зрения мелодических решений он очень и очень прилично давал фору дебютнику. Мелодии приобрели законченный окрас, стали более зрелыми, что довольно-таки сильно повлияло на уровень их яркости и цепляемости, а таких вещей как хитов насчитывалась большая часть пластинки. Касаемо атмосферы мелодических решений - тут основой упор, конечно, сделан на позитивный рок, но в тоже время можно найти много и достаточно мрачных вещей, которые всё равно выдержаны в собственном стиле группы Тен. Из самых сильных произведений я бы назвал открывающую эпическую композицию «The Name Of The Rose», которая к моему огромному удивлению длиться целых восемь минут и характеризуется сложной структурой в виде акустических проигрышей и динамичных моментов, средне темповый номер «Wildest Dream» привлекает своей несколько напряженной атмосферой и мелодичным припевом. Среди других песен выделяются крепкие номера «Don’t Cry», быстрый и напористый «Wait For You», более мягкий трек «The Rainbow», великолепнейшая и красивейшая баллада «Through The Fire», скоростной номер «Wings Of The Storm» сделанный под влиянием Ингви Малмстина, и др. В целом, «The Name Of The Rose» – это сильнейший альбом в жанре мелодичного хард рока. Не в коем случае не проходите мимо, потому что эти ребята одни из тех которые могут удивить. Особенно это касается всех поклонников харда. |
